Owners Katie D'Oyen and her husband,, Don Jaeger, opened K.D's Sea Shack in September 2022.
Katie, who is originally from New York, now resides in Tryon, NC. She has worked in the food industry throughout her life. Don is from Michigan and has lived in Tryon for more than 20 years.
You may already know Katie and Don from their wildly successful Katie D's NY Bagels and Deli Tryon eatery.
Chef Travis Morris has lived in Polk County most of his life. He's been cooking for 20 years and been a chef for 8 years at both the celebrated Legends Grill and Campagna at the Tryon International Equestrian Center. Travis is super excited to be working with these freshest of ingredients. He says, "I'd rather do my talking with my cooking."
Katie's reputation is built on providing the freshest, highest quality foods at affordable prices. The menu and recipes are a collaborative effort by Katie and Travis.
